A. Composition and Responsbilities of the Honor Board
Wed, 07/29/2009 - 13:39 — Jim
A. Composition and Responsibilities of the Honor Board: A full Honor Board will consist of two faculty members and two students, each of whom is appointed by the Dean of Students on an ad hoc basis. Two of the four members, one student and one faculty member, will serve as co-chairpersons. The co-chairpersons serve two important functions: first, they and the Director of Student Affairs are responsible for reaching an "initial determination" on the case (described below); and second, they serve as the liaisons to the full Honor Board regarding administrative matters and scheduling. All communications may be directed to either chairperson, and they will make decisions jointly (e.g., on dates and on circumstances for meetings and hearings). The Director of Student Affairs (or another representative from the Office of Student Affairs) will serve as an ex officio member of the Honor Board.
